‘Deux Etendards’ was the first cartoon designed by Albert Le Normand. He was greatly influenced by roman symbolism and the spiritual tradition of the Middle Ages.
Le Normand aimed to evoke expression and emotional feeling using cubist and abstract elements. His use of rhythm, modulation and color created vivid images that displayed his personal vision versus conventional representation.
